The New Zeitgeist – Folk Dinner Show Friday, March 6 | 6–8 PM
Since meeting at a Chicago open mic in 2011, Hudson Valley, NY–based husband-and-wife duo The New Zeitgeist have built a reputation for haunting harmonies and roots-driven songwriting inspired by Appalachian spirituals, country gospel, and ‘60s pop-rock.
Their 2017 album Myths and Mortals—featuring Lloyd Maines of Austin City Limits fame—charted in the Top 50 on the Folk DJ charts, and the duo was named among the Top 200 Folk Artists of 2017. Blending Jen Reilly’s gospel-infused vocals with Eddie Bluma’s rock sensibility, their sound has been praised as “real roots music that connects Dublin and Austin.”

Known for their dynamic musicianship and high-energy performances, Novus Cantus blends world-rock fusion with influences from rock, flamenco, and Middle Eastern traditions. Their set features original compositions alongside re-imagined covers from artists such as Jefferson Airplane, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, and Rusted Root.The band has been featured on WMHT’s AHA House of the Arts and Albany’s Local 518 Sessions, and has performed throughout New York City, the Hudson Valley, and the Capital Region. Novus Cantus is a three-time Eddies Award nominee and is currently working on their fourth EP, Medici.

FOLK DINNER SHOW w/ PERRY FOSTER
Friday March 13th
Perry Foster is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Arizona, now based in the Hudson Valley, New York. Performing for most of his life, Perry brings a wide-ranging musical background—from pub singing to art installation—into a deeply personal and expressive live experience.
His signature sound weaves together folk, jazz, rock, and klezmer influences, creating music that is both exploratory and grounded. Perry has received project grants from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, Scottsdale Public Art, and the Phoenix Art Museum, and has served as artist-in-residence at the Gershwin Hotel (NYC), Whiskeytown National Park (California), and nue[box] theatre (Arizona).
His ensemble won Best Folk Album 2016 from YabYum Music. Outside of music, Perry lives with his family and his garden, and serves his community as a death doula—bringing care, intention, and presence into every aspect of his work.
